Cooking A Chicken By Slapping It
MANY of us have been cooking roast dinners this Easter weekend but one man has turned this standard practice into a science experiment.
Curious YouTuber Louis Weisz wanted to see whether he could cook a chicken by slapping it repeatedly and the strange video now has millions of views.
Weisz used his educational YouTube video to prove that it's possible to cook meat by just using the heat generated from slapping something repeatedly.
It took him about two months to test the theory and he had to create a special contraption that could slap the chicken quick enough.
He also tested his method on a piece of steak and was able to cook both pieces of meat to edible states.
However, he also helped to prove why we're lucky to have ovens to do the cooking for us.
Weisz's contraption had to slap the meat hard and fast enough to create heat energy without destroying the chicken and making it inedible.
In physics terms, the repeated slapping movement turned kinetic energy into heat energy and this was enough to cook chicken.
In the end, the YouTuber used 135,000 slaps over eight hours to do the cooking.
He used 7,500 Watt Hours of energy.
That's around two or three times as much energy as your oven would use for a similar cooking job.
It's probably best not to try this experiment at home.
Weisz's inspiration may have come from a 2019 Reddit post that posed the question about cooking meat in this unusual way.
In other news, a genetic mutation is causing rabbits to do handstands instead of hopping.
A Twitch star made thousands after live-streaming himself from his bedroom for two weeks straight.
And, a sleeping man made $16,000 (£11,500) by streaming his slumber on Twitch and charging fans to attempt to wake him up.
